The Major System
The Major System is a useful study technique for learning numbers, dates, and statistics. Please know the following by next Tuesday:
0 = z, s, soft c (as in cell)
1 = d, t, th
2 = n
3 = m
4 = r
5 = L
6 = j, g, sh, soft ch (as in cheese), zh
7 = k, q, qu, -ng (as in ring), hard ch (as in loch)
8 = f, v
9 = p, b
We will use this technique to generate mnemonics for class.

The Industrialization of Louisiana
A student requested help with research on the industrialization of Louisiana. I was glad to help. See the link below for all my "delicious" links about "industrialization:"
http://del.icio.us/LouisianaStudies/industrialization
You may bookmark the link and check back later to see if I have added more links as I surf.
If you are stuck on your research topic I will try to help you, but don't wait until the last minute (or week) or I may not have time to help you. Some sources that may help many of you are Bennett Wall's Louisiana: A History (available at the library or on Amazon.com) and your textbook.
